SIPTU leaders meet on pay proposals after IMO and TUI recommend rejection
SIPTU's executive is meeting today to discuss the Lansdowne Road agreement on public sector pay.
The TUI and IMO are recommending their members reject the proposals, which would see workers receive a €2,000 pay rise over two years.
General secretary of the Irish Congress of Trade Unions Patricia King said some public sector staff saw huge cuts in their wages.
"It would be quite incorrect for me to make a call as to whether something would be rejected or not," she said.
"The objective of (the talks) was to start a path to restoration for public sector workers whose incomes had been - in some cases - extraordinarily badly hit over the last six to seven years."
