Bad news for Labour and Fianna Fáil in latest opinion poll

Labour and Fianna Fáil have lost support with the electorate according to a new opinion poll.

The RedC survey for tomorrow's Sunday Business Post shows gains for Sinn Féin and Independents.

As Fine Gael continues its national conference in Castlebar this weekend, the latest poll shows them unchanged on 24% support.

Coalition partners Labour have seen their support drop two points to 7%.

Those support levels would not see the Government re-elected.

Fianna Fáil has dropped a point to 18, Sinn Féin are up 1 percentage point to 21% while Independents and others are up 2 points to 30%.

The poll shows more than a quarter of people who voted Fine Gael in 2011 and almost a fifth of those who voted Labour, now support Independents.

Almost a fifth of those who voted for Fine Gael have now switched to Sinn Féin.
