Man shot by pellet gun in Donegal home raid
A man was shot with a pellet gun after a gang of masked men burst into his home in Co Donegal.
It happened shortly after 5pm yesterday.
The raiders burst into the man's home in the village of St Johnston yesterday evening and shot him at close range with what is believed to have been a pellet gun.
The man in his 40s was also beaten with bats before the gang fled the scene empty-handed.
The man was rushed to Letterkenny General Hospital, but his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
The area was cordoned off yesterday and a full technical examination was carried out at the scene.
