Agency appeals for foster parents in Dublin
The Child and Family Agency has today appealed for families to consider fostering a child, as demands are not being met in north Dublin.
So far this year, the agency was not able to find local foster care for around 90 children.
Caroline, who has been a foster mother for around 22 years, has explained what's involved in fostering a child.
"They're only children, and some of our children that come to us would have had very tough times and would probably have looked after younger siblings, or worried so much about Mammy or Daddy," she said.
"You try to lift some of the burdens off them, and hope that they become the child they need to be, because it's a very short time that they're children. And that's what our goal is really."
