Three people - including garda - injured in Dublin carjacking
Three people inlcuding a garda have been injured during a carjacking in Dublin.
It happened in broad daylight at the airport yesterday afternoon.
At around 3.40pm a man in his 60s was assaulted as he loaded the boot of a car at Dublin Airport.
A man who jumped into the vehicle then knocked down another man in his 50s, who had run to help the victim.
Airport police raised the alarm and a car was stopped a short time later on the Ballymun Road. A garda in his 30s was injured as he tried to apprehend the suspect.
He was taken to Blanchardstown hospital where he has been treated for minor wounds. He has since been released
The man whose car was stolen has been treated for facial injuries at Beaumont Hospital.
The 24-year-old suspect also received treatment there. He can be held for 24 hours once questioning begins.
A 24-year-old man will appear in court this morning, charged in relation to this incident.
