Lynch: Much too early for 'superficial' analysis of Labour performance
Labour Minister of State Kathleen Lynch has dismissed the analysis of Labour's performance in yesterday's election poll as "superficial".
She admitted that her party has been punished in the local elections, but said the comment surrounding Labour's future is premature.
"It wasn't as if we went into this Government blind - we knew the crisis the country was in," she said.
"It had four months' money remaining, and we brought the country back from that brink, that abyss.
"These are local Government elections and the business of Government still has to continue.
"Come Monday morning, I will be back in the office I will be putting in place the programme which I am in charge of putting in place,.
"I've heard analysis - I think it's very superficial analysis by the way - at this stage. I think it's way too early to be having the type of analysis that is being conducted."
