Teachers: Schools 'don't have technology' to teach new Junior Cert

Secondary school teachers will mount protests at lunchtime today over the introduction of a reformed Junior Cert.

Members of the ASTI and TUI say they have grave concerns over the plans, because of what they see as a lack of proper consultation or enough resources.

The changes are due to be introduced next year.

Noel Buckley, a teacher at Presentation Secondary School in Clonmel, County Tipperary, says the new curriculum will bring more IT into the classroom which is a good idea but they are far from ready.
