Gardaí release man in connection with Waterford assault

A 20-year-old man arrested in connection with a serious assault in Waterford has been released without charge.

A file will now be prepared for the DPP.

A 22-year-old man remains in a critical condition after he was attacked and beaten unconscious in Williamstown in Waterford city over the weekend.

A 22-year-old man, who was also arrested over the same incident, remains in Garda custody.
