Woman charged with murder of three-year-old boy

A woman has been charged with the murder of a three-year-old boy.

Brendan Owens, from Lisburn near Belfast, was found at a house in the city on July 4.

The suspect, 27, will appear before Lisburn Magistrates’ Court later this morning, police said.

The boy was discovered at Trinity Terrace, close to the centre of the city. A post-mortem examination has been carried out.

A man aged 51 has been released on bail pending further inquiries.
