A Macroom woman who admitted possessing cannabis valued at €180 has been directed to undergo two random drug tests and engage with the Probation Service.

Tracey O’Driscoll, 41, of Barrack Lane, Macroom, pleaded guilty at Macroom District Court to possession of cannabis.

The court heard gardaí carried out a search at a premises on Barrack Lane on October 25, 2025.

O’Driscoll was not the primary target of the search warrant, but cannabis valued at €180 was recovered from her.

She had one previous conviction, which was not drug-related.

Defence solicitor Patrick Goold said O’Driscoll accepted the facts but did not have a drug problem.

He said other people had been the target of the warrant and his client no longer used drugs.

Judge Joanne Carroll said she wanted to be satisfied O’Driscoll did not have an issue with drugs.

She directed the Probation Service to prepare a short report and ordered O’Driscoll to provide two random drug tests, to which O’Driscoll agreed. The case was adjourned until January 20, 2027, for the report and test results.
