Cavan has topped this year's IBAL survey as the country's tidiest town.

Cavan has topped this year's IBAL survey as the country's tidiest town.

The latest report of 42 towns and cities was carried out by An Taisce inspectors and ranks Kilkenny in second place. Waterford City came in third while Dublin was 14th.

It shows Limerick city and Cork city were both "clean to European norms".

However, Monaghan, Ennis and Mullingar came bottom of the league and were branded 'littered' by the inspectors.
