Court hears that Dundon ordered hit on another man
The Special Criminal Court has heard how John Dundon ordered a hit on another man the night before Shane Geoghegan was killed.
Dundon of Hyde Park, Limerick is accused of murdering the popular rugby player at the Clonmore estate in Dooradoyle on November 9, 2008.
April Collins, a key witness for the state, has told the trial that she was with Dundon when he organised the murder of John McNamara.
She also described a second meeting that took place in a pub car park the next morning.
She said John Dundon shifted from sheer excitement to anger and panic as he realised the hitman had killed Mr Geoghegan by mistake.
Barry Doyle, a 27-year-old man from Portland Row, was sentenced to life in prison after being found guilty of his murder last year.
The trial continues before a panel of three judges at the Special Criminal Court.
