Over 300 waiting on hospital trolleys nationwide

There are 328 people are on trolleys at hospitals nationwide this lunchtime.

One hundred and fifty five of those patients are in the eastern part of the country - the remaining 173 are in other institutions around the country.

In the Dublin region, 33 are on trolleys at Beaumont hospital; 28 are at Connolly hospital in Blanchardstown; and 25 are in St Vincent's Hospital.

Twenty patients are on trolleys at Our Lady of Lourde's Hospital in Drogheda, Co. Louth; 18 are at Cork University Hospital; 18 are at Mayo General.
