An ESRI report out today shows that despite cuts to hospital budgets and staff, the number of patients being treated in acute public hospitals is increasing.

An ESRI report out today shows that despite cuts to hospital budgets and staff, the number of patients being treated in acute public hospitals is increasing.

There was a rise of almost 2% in the number of discharges from hospitals between 2010 and 2011.

That is mostly accounted for by the greater numbers of patients being treated and discharged on the same day, as opposed to staying in hospital for several days.
