Kenny to receive 'European of the Year' award today

The Taoiseach will be presented with the European of the Year award at a special ceremony in Berlin later today.

It recognises his strong contribution to Europe and commitment to European ideals.

It is understood Enda Kenny will receive a 12-inch bronze statuette depicting Nike, the Greek god of victory.

The Taoiseach will also travel to Budapest and Vienna today where he'll hold talks with the Prime Minister of Hungary and with the Austrian Chancellor, in advance of Ireland assuming the EU Presidency.
