Dublin murder victim named; man arrested
A young mother murdered in Dublin last night has been named locally as Anna Finnegan.
The 26-year-old mother-of-two was stabbed to death shortly before 9pm at a house in Allendale Glen, in Ongar.
Her two children, who were in the house at the time, were unharmed.
She was taken to the Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown where she was pronounced dead.
The woman's brother, who was also stabbed in the attack, is in a serious but stable condition in hospital.
This evening investigating officers arrested a man in his 30s in the Dublin area in connection with the investigation.
He is now being questioned at Blanchardstown Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
Gardaí also confirmed that they are no longer looking for a red Renault Megane as part of their investigation.
