Four-year-old dies at aquatic centre

A four-year-old boy has died after getting into difficulty while swimming at the National Aquatic Centre yesterday.

A four-year-old boy has died after getting into difficulty while swimming at the National Aquatic Centre yesterday.

It's understood the little boy was playing in the paddling pool, when the incident happened at around 6.30pm yesterday evening.

Efforts were made to resuscitate him and he was taken to Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown, Dublin where he passed away last night.

Gardaí in Blanchardstown are investigating.
