Aviva looking to fill 220 jobs in Galway

Aviva Ireland has launched a recruitment drive to fill 220 new jobs at the insurance firm in Galway.

That is despite the fact that the company is currently seeking 540 redundancies in other areas of its Irish operation over the next three years.

The company had initially announced that 770 jobs would be lost, but scaled back this figure earlier this year.

The new jobs will be in areas where redundancies are not being sought.
