Former PA to U2 bassist set to go on trial

A former personal assistant and housekeeper to U2 bass player Adam Clayton is due before Dublin Circuit Criminal Court today.

Carol Hawkins of Crannagh Road, Rathfarnham in Dublin is expected to go on trial, charged on 184 counts of theft.

The 47 -year-old is accused of taking various sums of money from bank accounts in the name of Mr Clayton, on dates between 2005 and 2008.
