Cork: Woman allegedly assaulted in early hours of morning
Gardaí in Cork are investigating an alleged sexual assault on a young woman as she walked home early this morning.
The attack happened in the grounds of the Holy Ghost Church at Dennehy's Cross on the city's southside between 3am and 4am.
The woman, who is in her early 30s, contacted gardaí and was taken to the sexual assault unit at South Infirmary Victoria Hospital for treatment. She has since been released.
Gardaí cordoned off the scene and garda technical experts have begun a forensic examination of the area.
