Cannabis factory discovered in Dublin

Gardaí this evening uncovered a cannabis cultivation operation at a house in Ballyboughal, north Co Dublin.

A search was carried out by members of the Garda National Drugs Unit who discovered a fully functioning growhouse with approximately 350 plants at different stages of maturation.

Also found were 4kg of herbal cannabis.

The total estimated street value is €200,000 – subject to further analysis.

A sophisticated lighting and irrigation system was installed in two rooms in the house and one outhouse.

Two men aged 27 and 32 were arrested and are being detained at Ballymun Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice ( Drug Trafficking ) Act 1996.
