Dumbrell jury to consider verdict on Monday
The jury in the trial of two Dublin brothers accused of murdering a man in Inchicore five years ago is to formally begin its deliberations on Monday morning.
Warren and Jeffrey Dumbrell from Emmet Place in Inchicore deny the murder of Christy Cawley in October 2006.
The father-of-six was stabbed six times in front of his wife and children.
After a few minutes in their jury room, jurors returned to court and asked that they formally begin their deliberations on Monday morning.
It is the State's case that Christy Cawley was chased, and stabbed to death at the entrance to a flat complex in Inchicore by Warren and Jeffrey Dumbrell.
Lawyers for Warren Dumbrell have warned the jury to approach evidence given by the victim's family with the "utmost caution", saying it was "curious" they were the only witnesses to see him with a knife.
During the trial Jeffrey Dumbrell gave evidence in his defence telling the jury Mr Cawley had produced a knife and he was fighting for his life.
The jury will return to Court at 10am on Monday to begin considering a verdict.
