Mountain rescue teams called after woman slips on ice

Mountain rescue teams have been called to assist another injured person seeking medical attention from their own home today.

A woman in her 50s slipped on ice and suffered a lower leg injury.

Living in the townland of Ballard on the slopes of Trooperstown Mountain, the woman has been completely snow-bound for several days.

The evacuation began at 4pm this afternoon and is ongoing.
