IRA accused bailed by court
A Waterford man who is charged with IRA membership and explosives offences was freed on bail by the Special Criminal Court in Dublin today.
Sean Ryan (aged 28), of Mandeville Lane, Waterford is charged with membership of an unlawful organisation styling itself the Irish Republican Army, otherwise Oglaigh na hÉireann, otherwise the IRA on October 15.
He is also charged with the unlawful possession of an improvised explosive device at the TOP garage, Butler's Town Roundabout, Cork Road, Waterford on the same date.
Today the court freed Ryan on his own bond of €100 and an independent surety of €10,500.
He was ordered to sign on twice daily at Waterford garda station, to live at an address in Waterford City, to surrender his passport and to observe a curfew between the hours on 10pm and 7am.
Ryan was remanded until November 26 when his case will be mentioned again.
