Former TD Tom Parlon is unlikely to return to politics after hearing how unhappy his former colleagues are in the job.

Former TD Tom Parlon is unlikely to return to politics after hearing how unhappy his former colleagues are in the job.

Asked about a potential return by Midlands 103, he said: "I don’t think so - I’ve been there, done that.

"I meet my former colleagues on a regular basis, they’re saying: ‘You’re so lucky to be out of this particular job’, whether they are Opposition or Government people."

The now-chief executive of the Construction Industry Federation quit after he lost his Dáil seat at the last General Election.

The once President of the IFA was a high-profile member of the Progressive Democrats and held the position of Minister of State in the Office of Public Works.
