SIPTU members in the National Gallery of Ireland in Dublin are to go on strike tomorrow following the breakdown of talks at the Labour Relations Commission.

The union served notice of strike action four weeks ago - to commence at commencing at one minute past midnight tomorrow - after workers balloted for a 24-hour strike in support of their demand for greater flexibility in their work.

SIPTU and management attended last-minute talks at the LRC today in a bid to avoid the industrial action.

But they failed to resolve the issue and the gallery on Merrion Sqaure in Dublin will close for the one-day strike.
