Six remain in custody in Galway organised crime investigation

Six men remain in Garda custody as part of an investigation into organised crime in the West.

'Operation Foolscap' saw nine men arrested on Tuesday afternoon.

Vehicles, mobile phones, computers and documentation were seized during the raids across Co Galway.

Last night, a 29-year-old man appeared before a special sitting of Galway District Court.

He is the first to be charged in connection with the raids.

The men are being held at various Garda stations in Galway under section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act.
