Female asylum seekers housed in what is known as 'direct provision' care in Ireland, are living in a state of fear for years on end, according to a new report.

The report by the migrant women's organisation Akidwa addresses the issues facing women who are waiting on decisions about their asylum.

Director of AkiDwA, Salome Mbugua, who compiled the report said it found that the lack of adequate care provided leaves the women vulnerable, isolated and excluded from mainstream society.
