Elderly hillwalker rescued off Dublin mountain

A hillwalker has been airlifted from the Dublin mountains after he suffered chest pains this afternoon.

The 72-year-old was on his own near the summit of Lugnaquillia.

The Glen of Imaal and Dublin/Wicklow Mountain Rescue Teams arrived on the scene after he used his mobile phone to raise the alarm.

The Irish Coastguard helicopter was called in and brought the man to Tallaght hospital.
