Woman 'died from multiple stab wounds'

A 33-year-old woman who was killed in Co. Offaly during the week died from multiple stab wounds according to the post mortem results.

A 33-year-old woman who was killed in Co. Offaly during the week died from multiple stab wounds according to the post mortem results.

The woman's body was found at an apartment in Tara Street in Tullamore on Thursday evening.

She had injuries to the chest and stomach.

Gardaí are waiting to question a 30-year-old man, who was arrested following the incident on Thursday night.

He is being treated at the Midlands Regional Hospital but his injuries are described as not life-threatening.

The post mortem examination was carried out today and revealed the woman died from internal trauma as a result of multiple stab injuries.
