Woodward agrees to meet Bloody Sunday relatives
The British Government's Northern Secretary Shaun Woodward has agreed to meet relatives of the Bloody Sunday victims to discuss the latest delay in the final report from the Saville Inquiry.
The £200m inquiry was expected to present its report to the authorities in London before the end of this year, but it has now been delayed until March 22, 2010.
The reason for the delay is believed to be technical difficulties relating to the printing of the 4,500-page document.
The relatives of the victims say they are hugely disappointed and fear the report will not be given to the families next March because of the possible imminent announcement of a Westminster election date.
Mr Woodward said this morning that he was also disappointed and would meet the families and the soldiers involved to discuss the situation.
