Public urged not to shake hands at Mass

Mass-goers in two separate dioceses are being warned against offering each other the sign of peace at services this morning, in an effort to stop the spread of swine flu.

The advice comes as the HSE says it is moving to the treatment (from the containment) phase of the illness, now described as a worldwide pandemic.
