An elderly woman was airlifted to hospital last night after sustaining serious head injuries on Croagh Patrick in Co Mayo.

An elderly woman was airlifted to hospital last night after sustaining serious head injuries on Croagh Patrick in Co Mayo.

The woman, who is in her 70s and from the US state of Colorado, suffered the injuries in a fall while walking on the mountain with her partner.
