Sinn Féin says job creation must be at the heart of the Government's forthcoming emergency Budget.

The party's Ard Comhairle is meeting in Dublin today to discuss the details of its own submission to the Government on spending and savings in the public sector.

The supplementary budget due early next month is expected to include an increase in income tax, as well as further cuts in public spending.

Speaking ahead of today's meeting, Sinn Féin MEP Mary Lou McDonald said she believed the Government was too focused on cutbacks and appeared to have no plan to get people back to work.
