Victims Commissioner rejects resignation calls
One of the North's four Victims Commissioners is dismissing calls for her resignation after she wrote about the death of her brother on a website.
Patricia McBride wrote on the Shared Troubles website about her grief at the age of 14 in seeing her older brother being buried.
She wrote of her pride in him, her family and community.
Antoine McBride was shot dead by the SAS during a failed IRA bombing mission in 1984.
Ulster Unionist MEP Jim Nicholson says Ms McBride should be sacked for "sickening sycophancy towards IRA murderers".
However, she says her experience of losing her eldest brother qualifies her to understand the loss and grief felt by all families bereaved during the conflict.
