Citizen’s arrest foils attempted car-jacking in Belfast

Passers-by made a citizens' arrest of a man during an attempted car hi-jacking in north Belfast this morning.

A car was taken from a filling station at Fortwilliam Park at about 8am.

The passenger flagged the attention of passers-by who apprehended the driver as he attempted to abandon the vehicle nearby.

A 22-year-old man was later arrested by police.
