Driver hijacked at Belfast petrol station

A motorist was recovering today after he was pulled from his car during a hijacking in Belfast.

A motorist was recovering today after he was pulled from his car during a hijacking in Belfast.

Two men, aged 26 and 28, are being questioned over the incident which happened at a filling station on the Antrim Road in the early hours of the morning.

The PSNI said at about 2.30am the driver was pulled from his blue Vauxhall Vectra by an unknown man who jumped in to the vehicle and drove off.

The hijacker had got out of a light grey Renault Scenic that also sped off.

The stolen car was later discovered in the Seabourn Parade area of Skegoneill and the two suspects were arrested nearby.

Police urged anyone who was at the service station and witnessed the incident to contact detectives at Antrim Road CID.
