Woman dies in three-car collision

Gardaí in Co Galway are investigating a fatal three-car collision in Connemara yesterday evening.

It happened on the Galway to Clifden Road at Recess shortly after 5pm.

A 42-year-old woman - who was the driver and sole occupant of one of the cars - received serious injuries in the crash.

She was taken for treatment to University Hospital Galway, where she later died.

The occupants of the other two cars were unharmed.
