Ceann Comhairle takes 10% pay cut

The Ceann Comhairle of the Dáil, John O’Donoghue, became the latest member of the Government to forfeit 10% of his salary this afternoon.

Mr O’Donoghue currently earns the same salary as a minister - €225,000 per year.

Earlier today, President Mary McAleese confirmed that she would also take a 10% pay cut.
