DUP man attacks SF during Stormont debate
Relations between the DUP and Sinn Féin do not appear to be getting any better, with the unionist party launching a scathing attack on its government partners at Stormont today.
Sinn Féin has been blocking meetings of the power-sharing Executive for the past four months due to the DUP's refusal to approve the devolution of policing and justice powers from London.
The republican party is also accusing the DUP of refusing to operate in a spirit of partnership within the Executive.
The two sides have been holding talks in an effort to resolve their differences.
However, speaking during a debate on a Sinn Féin resolution on tenants' rights at Stormont today, DUP assemblyman David Simpson accused the party of running away from reality.
He said there was no point in Sinn Féin pretending to be concerned about ordinary people's lives while it was refusing to agree to Executive meetings.
