Mother and baby die in road collision

A young mother and her baby daughter were killed in a road accident.

The crash happened at around 8.45pm last night on a country road near Tullygay, 3km south of Letterkenny, Co Donegal.

Gardaí said a four-wheel drive vehicle towing a trailer full of sheep was in collision with a car.

There were three people in the car. The woman who died had been travelling in the front passenger seat while her three-month-old girl had been in the back.

A man who was driving the car was seriously injured along with the driver of the second vehicle.
