60,000 contraband cigarettes seized in Cork
Customs officers in Cork have seized 60,000 contraband cigarettes following an investigation focusing on a Cambodian-registered freighter that docked in the city yesterday.
40,000 cigarettes were found when the 'Defender' was searched at Cork Port early yesterday morning.
Another 20,000 were found during a follow-up operation in Blackpool.
Nobody has been arrested, but a file will be prepared for the DPP in connection with the seizure.
