Several roads flooded after heavy overnight rains

Motorists are being advised to be extremely careful on the roads this morning following heavy overnight rains.

Several roads around the country have been flooded following the downpours.

The N7 Dublin to Limerick road is down to one lane near the Portlaoise by-pass and has also been affected by floods in Co Tipperary.

The inbound stretch of the N11 in Dublin, meanwhile, is partially flooded at the Foster Avenue Junction.

AA Roadwatch is urging drivers to slow down and approach any flooded areas with extreme caution.
