Thousands on the move for bank holiday weekend
The traditional bank holiday exodus is due to get underway today as tens of thousands of people head away for the weekend.
Motorists are being urged to take extra care on the roads due to the increased traffic, while the Gardaí will be out in force to target speeders and drink-drivers.
Iarnród Eireann also says nearly a quarter of a million journeys will be made by train this weekend.
Passengers are being urged to book tickets in advance as two of this evening's Dublin-to-Cork trains have already sold out.
