Victim's family speak out against rapist's release
The family of a 91-year-old woman who was raped in her mobile home have spoken out against the release of the man convicted of the brutal assault.
Eamon Foley has served just half of a16-year sentence for raping Mary-Anne McLaughlin, from Castlederg in Co. Tyrone.
He was convicted after an unprecedented cross-border DNA trawl of 600 men in Co Tyrone and Co Donegal.
He is due to be released in six weeks under the half-remission rule in the North, which is set to change next year.
Foley has shown no remorse, still denies the crime, has refused any help in jail and is assessed as posing a high risk to girls and women.
When he is released, he must live at an approved address, can only use public transport and is not allowed to have access to children or vulnerable adults.
