The new head of a secondary school teachers' union is vowing to step up the campaign for better resources in schools.

Patricia Wroe, a guidance counsellor at Loreto Foxrock in Dublin, takes up her position today after being elected ASTI president at its annual conference in April.

She says securing better investment in schools, particularly in science and technology, will be top of her agenda.
