President to confer honour on painter

President Mary McAleese will confer the prestigious Saoi of Aosdana on Cork-born painter Patrick Scott today.

Aosdana is an affiliation of creative artists which confers membership through peer nomination and election to artists engaged in architecture, choreography, music, literature and the visual arts who have produced a distinguished body of work.

The event will take place in the Arts Council on Merrion Square.
