Passenger killed as car hits wall

A young man was killed and another is in a serious condition following a car accident in Galway this morning.

Gardaí have arrested a man following the crash.

The incident happened at around 3.45am on the N17 at Loughgeorge.

A passenger in the car was fatally injured when the vehicle crashed into a wall.

One of the victims had to be cut from the wreckage.

Two other male passengers were taken to University College Hospital Galway where one is believed to be in a serious condition.

Traffic restrictions are in place at the scene.
