Republican in court after organised crime probe

A well-known republican will appear in court today following a police investigation into organised crime.

Brian Arthurs (aged 42), was detained during a raid at his home in Dungannon, Co Tyrone, on Friday.

He will appear at the town’s magistrates court today charged with fraudulently obtaining money and money laundering.

Another man held during the same investigation in Armagh has been released without charge and a second freed on bail.
