Pensioner charged in connection with shooting of boy
A 72-year-old man has been charged in connection with the shooting of a five-year-old boy in a Fermanagh playground two years ago.
The pensioner is accused of unlawfully wounding Darragh Somers and causing him grievous bodily harm.
He is due in court on Monday.
The victim was shot in the back of the head while playing at St Patrick's Primary School near Enniskillen in a case that angered and mystified people throughout the North.
Darragh was critically injured, but has since undergone two major operations and has returned to school.
The pensioner charged over the attack was arrested two months after the shooting and released on police bail pending a decision on whether there was sufficient evidence against him.
